"Mohammad Mosaddegh (1882 - 1967) was one of the most influential figures in the contemporary history of Iran.

He was responsible for a number of social and political reforms, of which the most important was probably the nationalization of the Iranian oil industry and thus, weakening the colonial dominance of the Western powers over Iran's politics and social structures.
This is his speech during which he officially announced the nationalization of the oil industry.

He was ultimately overthrown during a coup designed by British and US intelligence services."
